Ptilonorhynchus violaceus  

Having just positioned myself on a bench in the Miala National Park to take a photo of another bird, I was quite startled when this female Satin Bowerbird landed in the tree next to me. She was nearly within reaching distance.

I was quite lucky to have composed myself in time to capture her sitting there looking at me before she decided that I really wasn't at all that interesting and that she was hungry for berries instead.
